Yes! ChatticaAI uses a 100% local-only architecture. All your character cards, chat histories, and settings are stored exclusively on your device. We don't have servers that collect or store your data. The only data transmission occurs when you choose to use third-party AI services (OpenRouter, OpenAI, etc.) - and that goes directly from your device to them, not through us.
Story Mode presents conversations in a narrative format with rich descriptions and prose, ideal for immersive storytelling and creative narratives. Chat Mode uses a traditional messaging interface for quick back-and-forth conversations. You can switch between modes anytime based on your preference.
ChatticaAI supports both PNG and JSON character cards in popular formats. Simply tap the import button in the Character Library and select your PNG or JSON file. The app will automatically extract the character information and add it to your library.
ChatticaAI is rated 18+ and intended for mature audiences. While the app includes content filtering and moderation tools, it allows adult content between consenting adult fictional characters. Users must be 18 years or older to use the app. We strictly prohibit illegal content including CSAM and other prohibited categories outlined in our Terms of Service.
Through OpenRouter and OpenAI-compatible APIs, you can access hundreds of models including GPT-4, Claude, Llama, Mistral, and many more. You can also use LM Studio to run models locally on your computer for complete offline functionality (requires separate LM Studio setup).
Yes! ChatticaAI supports LM Studio, which allows you to run AI models locally on your computer. This means completely offline chat with no API costs. You'll need to download and configure LM Studio separately, then point ChatticaAI to your local LM Studio server.
API costs vary by provider and model. OpenRouter typically charges $0.001-$0.03 per 1K tokens, with most conversations costing just a few cents. You have complete control over which models you use and can monitor costs through your API provider's dashboard. Local models via LM Studio are completely free after the initial setup.
